International Understanding Day

The objective of the International Understanding Day is to promote further understanding of a culture, movement or issue amongst students in an interesting and fun environment, at the same time fostering better relations.

This year, the Interact Club of SMK USJ 4 will be adopting the theme "Standing out from the World". We Hope that this theme will encourage youths to embrace individuality. Aside from that, we also want the youth of the 21st century to understand the cultures of other countries and develop respect towards these countries.

I know it is kinda late to be posting this up but it was an unforgettable camp an besides, I have awesome pictures, thanks to Ady Faizal of course :)

There were a number of activities prepared for the participants and one of them involved them getting wet.

Chicken chop and fried rice was what we had for dinner.

Of course we had adult supervision from our very patient teachers. Puan Adilah was one of them.

Thanks to the help of the scouts, the campfire was a huge success. The fire was useful as it allowed us to make roasted marshmallows.

After the campfire, the participants which were divided into groups played a game which challenged everybody. The 'BOMB' Game.

It's where each group has to be named a country and takes turns to 'bomb' each other. The group that messes up the other country's name loses and therefore, is excluded from the next round.

The groups participated and of course had loads of fun.

The 'Substitute' Teachers also looked after us as we make noise and create chaos that night.

After the game, there was a short briefing by Interact Club's President, Ameen Ruslan.

After the briefing, everyone got ready for a shower, yes in the school's toilet and then it was off to bed.

Although the camp was a little bit unorganized, the participants still enjoyed the camp. Thank you all for participating and supporting our school's Interact Club as well as KRS.

Can't wait for next year :)

I.R.R stands for Interact, Rotaract, Rotary

Venue : High School Klang

Day : Sunday

Distance : 6 km

dress code : sports wear.
Theme : green

Certs will be given to people who participates in this event. There will be no prize because it's a charity event. So people join this run for a good deed. =D

We will be choosing one band and one band only so bands practice and may the best band get chosen.

Oh yes, and we are not really sure about the audition dates yet so just practice and we'll let you guys know soon.

Chinese New Year Sale Report

The Chinese New Year Sale was held on 23 January 2009 at the foyer C which was carried out by Sara Shafi from 4 Tanjung. Our initial idea was to have sales of food and beverages such as mandarin oranges, cards and other thingamajiggies to raise money for our club's charity fund.

However the school stopped us from doing so, due to complaints from the canteen caterer, from some reason claimed that we were jeopardising their business at the eleventh hour.

But, instead of cancelling it, we changed the whole idea from selling digestives, to new junk (Unused Items) which was sponsored by fellow interactors, and went on to carry out a day sale. We mananged to sell out almost everything, the project turned out to be successful with a profit of 100%.

To all interactors the club currently need around 12 couples for the upcoming project which is to welcome the Melbourne students. We need these few couples to be dress in full traditional attire. We need people from different race and cultures. We currently need Chinese, Malay, Indian, Bengali and Western. Every traditional outfit need to be worn by that specific race it is stated by the teacher herself. Whoever are interested kindly drop a message in the cbox.
